  • I've seen plenty of people on Instagram do photo challenges for month and I've not gotten into that myself... but I always admired people with the discipline to stick to a goal for any length of time. I stumbled onto Kathy Racoosin's 30 Day Coloring Challenge over at her blog: The Daily Marker.

I will attempt to commit to coloring 1 thing a day.. for 30 days.. I can do this, right? We shall see...

Here are my efforts for Day 1.
In truth, I started coloring this over the weekend and didn't finish, but finishing my coloring still counts, right?

Used my Peerless watercolors and a stamp from Crafter's Companion series called Everyday in Moonbeam Meadow.

  • I'm still not so good at using Gelatos. Maybe I don't wait enough for the water to loosen up the stick. And sometimes I get little flakes inside of the color mixing with water. Weird huh?
I haven't put this on a card yet, but I will soon.

Stamps: Hero Arts - Large Open Flower, Sweet Stamp Shop - Elegant Flowers
ink: Faber-Castell Gelatos in guava, bubble gum, red cherry, lavender, grape, lime, green tea
  • Saw some watercolor techniques with distress inks from Kristina Werner so I definitely had to try it out. Plus some paper piecing which I LOVE but I'm often too lazy to do! haha

Inks: Distress Inks - Picked Raspberry, Peacock Feathers, Mustard Seed
Dies: Avery Elle - Die: Simply Said: Hello Elle-ments, Mama Elephant - Confetti
Stamps: Studio Calico - Cat Lover's Kit, Avery Elle - Simply Said: Hello Clear Stamps

  • I bought the magazine "Card Creations for Him" by Papercraft & Scrapbooking while I was at Joann's a few weeks ago because, honestly, I'm terrible at making masculine cards. I needed some serious inspiration. And this magazine came to the rescue! Here's a card I made based on a design from the magazine. How cute (and cool) is that! I used my Silhouette Portrait to cut the surfboards and "dude". The water is a piece of water color paper I had left over from some experimenting with distress inks. I really love this card.
  • So this kind of ended up being play time with techniques I'm not familiar with. I even used some cheaper paper which curled a little when I used water. But it turned out cute! I'll do another one like this later with better paper and better planning.

I'm pretty new to using distress inks but I think it still turned out okay. And what a surprise using the brush that came with the Faber-Castell gelato set to make grass using distress ink in peeled paint! it actually looks like grass!

Wishing you.... didn't live so far away <3
